Being an Emerald
Angel |
|
At Epsilon
Alpha, you will find a welcoming group of
amazing women who care about each other and are
always ready to lend a hand and have a good
time. We Emerald Angels have diverse interests
and backgrounds, but ultimately we share a
rallying spirit, a foundation of mutual respect
and lifelong sisterhood.
The desire
to maintain and expand our efforts to provide a
satisfying experience for our members is a high
priority within Epsilon Alpha. Knowing that
‘you get out only that which you put in’, we
strive to create opportunities for each of our
sisters to exercise her talents and initiative.
Epsilon
Alpha is committed to the overall development of
its members, and to sharing and preserving a
healthy atmosphere at meetings and events.
Together we
share good times, accomplish goals and form a
basis for lasting memories. |
We Sigma Beta Sisters like
to think of ourselves as a close-knit community comprised of a
very diverse and interesting group of women. Differences here
are celebrated and respected. We take pride in the fact that
our members include people from all different types of ethnic,
religious, racial and socio-economic backgrounds. Sigma Betas
also participate in a wide range of activities as a sorority
and make community service a priority.
While we do have some
mandatory events and meetings that members must attend, Sigma
Beta is what you want it to be. In other words, there is a
mutual understanding in our sorority that families should go
before all else. Therefore, our members are offered generous
flexibility to allow them to balance their personal and social
lives with their commitment to their sisters.
The vision is a dynamic
sisterhood of strong women fostering principles, igniting
positive change and embracing individuality. Our core values
are lifelong learning, inclusiveness and leadership through
service. |

Community
Involvement |
|
Membership in Sigma Beta extends beyond our
immediate sphere of influence. Through our
support of civic, social and philanthropic
projects, we touch the lives of many, who then
go on to share positive impact with many others.
Each Sigma
Beta chapter has a community involvement program
adapted to its members. The Emerald Angels of
Epsilon Alpha participate in activities and
programs that address some of the special needs
of our community. These include
-
Supporting local Ronald
McDonald Houses
-
Sponsoring a child in DFACS
care
-
Making and delivering lunches
for homeless shelters
-
Collecting and donating
needed supplies to local day shelters
-
Volunteering with the North
Metro Miracle League
-
Providing goods to the Love A
Child Orphanage in Haiti
-
filling Care Packages for
Operation Christmas Child
-
Assisting with fundraisers
for Hemophilia of Georgia, Northside
Hospital NICU, the March of Dimes, Leukemia
Lymphoma Society and the Cystic Fibrosis
Foundation
Through
membership in Sigma Beta we have the chance to
become aware of important issues, share that
awareness with others, discover new ways to be
more involved and begin to participate in
community service and philanthropic projects. |

each woman.

National
Impact |
|
Sigma Beta sisters
are Bound As One. As a National organization, we
combine efforts and resources to assist national charity
projects. At our National Convention, we award
cash grants to such charities to fund research and
support programs for a wide variety of diseases and
disabilities. Our Sophia
Maier-Johnston Scholarship program provides financial
assistance to disabled college students across the
country. |
